Katarzyna Hajdan: Judge

His(s)tory:”….

My story started in Portugal. A few years before I started skating, I was in Peniche.  I came there to overcome my fear of water – I wanted to surf. I heard there about longboarding and only when I  come back to Poland, I started browsing the net in search of what this longboarding actually was. I fell in love. I spent all days, sometimes even nights, learning how to longboard 😀. After just 4 months I took part in my first competiton in Hamburg. I met there all the people whose videos I studied to learn how to skate. Haninging out, longskating with them made me feel like I was a part of this big family ! I wanted to join every event they attended and spend as much time with them as I could.

“What does SYCLD mean to you?”

This our big day, you can’t miss this event 😉 you meet there people from all over the World just for 2 days. You can skate with them, you can learn the greatest tricks, you can talk with your favorite skaters.  When you come back home, you are so energised with positive energy. You just want to learn more and more … so many ideas start poping up in your head. Isn’t that great ?

” What did impress you the most at SYCLD?

Like every year the level and creativity of riders.

Which moment(s)?”…..

” What is the most funny SYCLD story you have?”….

Ohhh I had one hahah, that was back in 2016 after the first day of event. Everyone went to the party and I brought vodka from Poland, as always😁, and I wanted to share it with the people. There was one guy who took the whole bottle and disappeared haha.. The next day he looked really bad and, funnily enough, we had a team battle that day and you can imagine he wasn’t in his best shape  😁 Later on it turned out that this guy was Chris and the crew we had to compete against was Crownboards. Just in a  few months, I was in their team.

“What would you like to see in the dance competitions in 2019?”….

I hear that this year new people are attending the competition. I know these people only from social media, so I’m very curious about their fresh style this is what I’m waiting for ! 🙂

” How do you see SYCLD in 3 or 5 years?

If you could decide the future?”…..

I think the event is getting bigger and bigger. I remember my first SYCLD, that was back in 2016, I can say that the difference between 2016 and 2018  is so huge. I mean, these days the event is really international, which is good for the whole community. And maybe one day longboarding will be as important as skateboarding.

“What else would you like to add?”…..”
